McIntire Inspire Event Application

Each year the McIntire Graduate Marketing & Admissions team invites prospective graduate students to visit the historic University of Virginia Grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia for an opportunity to learn more about the Pre-Experience degree programs and student experience.

Participants attend interactive sessions to learn more about the degree programs, co-curricular programs, global opportunities, as well as career development support and outcomes. McIntire students, faculty, staff, and alumni are also present to connect throughout the event.

McIntire Inspire empowers individuals preparing to apply in the current admissions cycle with the clarity, confidence, and connection they need to take the first step. Through interactive sessions, community stories, and insight into McIntire’s distinctive curriculum and global career pathways, Inspire ignites purpose and possibility.

McIntire Ascend

McIntire Ascend supports students who are further along in their journey - active applicants, admitted students, and early planners, by offering a deeper lens into McIntire’s learning culture, leadership values, and post-graduate potential. With a focus on creating connection, growth, and intentional decision-making, Ascend prepares participants to rise into their next chapter with purpose.

Application Process & Timeline
Please complete the enclosed application form along with answering a short essay question and uploading a copy of your resume and unofficial transcript. Applications will be received and reviewed on a rolling basis. If selected to participate, you will receive an invitation to register for the event with further instructions. Responses need to be returned within one week of notification.

Candidates who participate in either hosting event will receive an application fee waiver for use with their application for Fall 2027 entry and an invitation to interview during the 2026-27 admissions season. Accommodation and a travel stipend will also be provided for participants who do not attend UVA and will be traveling to attend. All participants must be 18 or older to attend.

Note: The M.S. in Commerce is designed specifically for candidates with a bachelor’s degree or undergraduate major in the liberal arts or STEM fields; candidates with undergraduate degrees or majors in business and business related subjects are not eligible to enroll in the program.

Note: The M.S. in Global Commerce is designed for students who have already developed foundational business fluency and are prepared to apply those skills in a global context through advanced, internationally focused study.

Eligible candidates will demonstrate business fluency through one of the following pathways:
•   An undergraduate degree or major in business; or
•   An undergraduate major in a globally adjacent field of study combined with significant, structured business coursework; this may include a business minor, certificate, or equivalent credential.
